My good friend took a 4.5 hour drive yesterday to come back into town and go to a ska show with me. The Mad Caddies finally came back to WA, the last time we had seen them was July 13, 2007. The venue this year was a little scummy, and the first opening band sucked, so I had my doubts at first, but it ended up being a great experience overall! We saw Chuck and Sascha off and on throughout the venue, going back and forth from the bar to outside (but I was too much of a wiener to try and talk to them). When we first got there I needed to go to the bathroom, but when I opened the door to the women's bathroom, we found the Caddies' trumpet player standing in there using the mirror xD (the guys' bathroom didn't even HAVE a mirror, apparently). He was cool about it an apologized, but it was hilarious xD

The thing I love most about Mad Caddies concerts is the atmosphere. They don't say much to the audience between songs, but the audience itself is a lot more mellow than the ones at other ska shows. Not to mention The Caddies connect with fans at shows before/after their performances more than I've seen from any other group. You have a better chance of meeting/talking to one of them than any other band I've seen so far, hence why we got our pictures with Ed and an autograph from him (again!). I managed to get one of the set lists from Sascha before he left the stage, so that was exciting! Especially considering how crappy my memory is. They played all of our favorite songs, and even a new one that will be on their next album- Until the Rain Falls Down is SOOO much better live than on Youtube... It's so slow, serene and gorgeous. I know this show will have to tide us over until they come back again (which could be 2 years or longer), and I'm so glad we were able to get tickets and go on such short notice! Major props to ~PALLAandHUTTSER for making the pilgrimage and getting us the tickets. I look forward to our next skadventure
